Riley Wheeldon is in firm control of the final PGA TOUR Canada Qualifying Tournament of 2022. Playing a home game all week, the Comox Valley product will take a five-shot lead into the final round as he attempts to regain exempt status on the circuit where he has 83 career starts.

On a tight leaderboard late in the final round of the PGA TOUR Canada Qualifying Tournament at The Home Course, American Taylor Funk turned it on at the right time. Funk birdied two of his final three holes Friday to pull away at the end and defeat Canadian Lawren Rowe by two shots.

While there is a bit of mystery about where all the players sit on the leaderboard at the PGA TOUR Canada Qualifying Tournament, through 11 holes, the final grouping of Blake Maum, Cameron John and Christian Muscarello are all tied at 8-under, with Taylor Funk playing a hole ahead joining them, also at 8-under.

After days of continuous rain, the weather finally broke positively for the 99 players in the PGA Tour Canada's sixth Qualifying Tournament, and every player at least began their first round before officials called play for the day due to darkness. Of those 23 players who finished their rounds, American Scott Stevens is in the lead after shooting a 4-under 68.
