OTTAWA - The Ontario Hockey League's Ottawa 67's have announced that head coach Jeff Brown will also take on the role of general manager.

The 49-year-old Ottawa native guided the 67's to the team's first appearance in the OHL playoffs in three years in 2014-15, his rookie season as head coach.

The 67's finished fourth in the Eastern Conference standings with a 38-25-4-1 record.

Brown played parts of 13 seasons with six NHL franchises (Quebec, St. Louis, Vancouver, Hartford/Carolina, Toronto and Washington). He was named to the 1992 all-star game as a member of the Blues and was part of the Canucks' run to the Stanley Cup final in 1994.

"I've said it before that coaching the 67's is an honour because growing up in Ottawa before the Senators were in town, the 67's were the only game in town and the 67's were the big leagues to me," Brown said in a statement. "It's my hope that 67's fans know that I will do everything I can to uphold the traditions of pride, hard work and winning, which define this franchise."
