MONTREAL - The Montreal Alouettes signed Canadian offensive lineman Jake Piotrowski to a two-year contract Tuesday.

The six-foot-four, 293-pound Piotrowski appeared in all 18 regular-season games last year with Montreal, making a start.

The native of Shanty Bay, Ont., played at the University of Guelph before being selected in the fifth round, No. 41 overall, in the 2013 CFL draft by Montreal.

"Our drafting and development plan with Jake has progressed nicely over the last three years," Montreal coach/GM Jim Popp said in a statement. "After seeing action in all 18 games last season, he is in a position to vie for a starting job in 2016.

"Jake's contract renewal is important for the future of our offensive line."
