Robert Marve will get his first CFL start Friday night when the Winnipeg Blue Bombers battle the Toronto Argonauts.

The 26-year-old played his college ball with Purdue and signed with the Bombers in March 2014.

Marve has appeared in 15 games since joining the team and has thrown 189 yards with a touchdown and interception.

His dad, Eugene Marve, played linebacker in the NFL for 10 seasons with the Buffalo Bills, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and San Diego Chargers.

The team lost starting quarterback Drew Willy for 6-8 weeks after he suffered a tibial plateau fracture and a partial PCL tear in Sunday night's loss to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Winnipeg is 3-4 on the season.
