The Winnipeg Blue Bombers announced they have signed Weston Dressler to a two-year contract.

Dressler was recently released by the Saskatchewan Roughriders after eight seasons in Green.

“Adding a veteran player with his skillset was really a no-brainer for us,” Blue Bombers general manager Kyle Walters said in a team release. “We were all immediately interested in adding him to our offensive lineup, and we’re very excited to have Weston on our side moving forward.”

TSN's Gary Lawless said Dressler will get paid around $170,000 per year on the deal.

Dressler finished last year with 70 receptions, 941 yards, and six touchdowns. Through eight years with the Roughriders, the 30-year-old has 539 receptions for 7,797 yards and 50 touchdowns.

“I’m beyond excited to start my career as a Winnipeg Blue Bomber,” Dressler said in the team release. “It’s widely known the loyalty their fans have, and the passion the city and province have for the Bombers. The stadium is hands down the loudest in the CFL. And there are great football people in the organization. We have a quarterback who I think is as good as anyone in this league, and some really solid pieces around him. I’m really looking forward to the days ahead.”

Walters also said the team will not make an offer to pending free agent receiver Nick Moore.
