LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Doc Rivers is adding three new assistant coaches to his Los Angeles Clippers staff for the upcoming season.

Former NBA veteran Sam Cassell, Lawrence Frank and Mike Woodson will join Rivers on the bench. They round out a staff that includes current assistants Armond Hill and Brendan O'Connor, as well as assistant player skills coaches JP Clark and Dave Severns.

The three newcomers replace Alvin Gentry, Kevin Eastman and Tyronn Lue.

Cassell was an assistant with the Washington Wizards the last five years. He played for the Clippers during his 15-year NBA career, and won three NBA championships, two with Houston and one with Boston.

Frank reunites with Rivers after spending last season with the Brooklyn Nets. Frank was part of Rivers' staff in Boston during the 2010-11 season. He coached the Nets from 2003-10 when they were in New Jersey, and spent two years as coach of Detroit.

Woodson played two seasons for the Clippers. He coached the New York Knicks until the end of last season, and spent six years coaching Atlanta.
