ERIE, Pa. - The Erie Otters are one win away from playing for the Ontario Hockey League's J. Ross Robertson Cup.

Nicholas Baptiste scored four times and Connor McDavid had four assists as Erie toppled the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds 7-5 on Tuesday to take a 3-1 lead in their best-of-seven Western Conference final.

Alex DeBrincat added a pair of goals for the Otters while Dylan Strome had a goal and an assist.

McDavid currently leads all players in playoff scoring with 18 goals and 36 points in 13 games. Baptiste's four-goal outing gives him nine goals and 17 points in 13 outings, which has him tied with Strome four fourth in OHL post-season production.

Jared McCann scored once and set up two more to lead the Greyhounds' offence. Michael Bunting, Sergey Tolchinsky, Gabe Guertler and Jean Dupuy had a goal apiece.

Sault Ste. Marie's Nick Ritchie, who is second behind McDavid in scoring, tacked on a single assist and now has 13 goals and 25 points in 12 games.

Erie's Devin Williams made 32 saves for the win as Greyhounds netminder Brandon Halverson turned away 26-of-32 shots in a losing cause.

The Otters went 3 for 4 on the power play while Sault Ste. Marie failed to score on five chances with the man advantage.

The Greyhounds swept their first two playoffs rounds and opened the West final against Erie with a victory in Game 1. The Otters, however, have responded by handing top-seeded Sault Ste. Marie with its first three-game losing streak all season.

The Greyhounds will try and keep their season alive when they host Game 5 on Thursday.
