CHARLOTTETOWN - Stephen Johnson scored three times and added an assist as the Moncton Wildcats downed the host Charlottetown Islanders 5-3 on Tuesday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League play.

Conor Garland matched Johnson in points with a goal and three assists while Ivan Barbashev had a goal and an assist to round out the offence for the Wildcats (11-8-0).

Bradley Kennedy, Dexter Weber and Filip Chlapik supplied the scoring for the Islanders (8-10-2), who have dropped three games in a row.

Moncton's Alex Dubeau made 22 saves for the win as Mason McDonald kicked out 29-of-34 shots for Charlottetown.

The Wildcats went 3 for 7 on the power play while the Islanders scored twice on five chances with the man advantage.
