HALIFAX - The Halifax Mooseheads held off a third period rally by the Charlottetown Islanders en route to a 3-2 win in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action on Friday night.

Halifax (3-4-2) got on the scoreboard late in the first period with consecutive goals by Timo Meier and Danny Moynihan. Vincent Watt scored unassisted at 6:31 of the third period to cap the Mooseheads scoring.

Oliver Cooper and Filip Chlapik found the back of the net for the Islanders (5-4-2).

Montreal Canadiens prospect Zachary Fucale made 24 saves for Halifax. His counterpart, Calgary Flames draft pick Mason McDonald, made 27 saves in the loss.

Halifax failed to score on five power-play opportunities while Charlottetown was unsuccessful on one chance with the man advantage.

BATHURST, N.B. — Bronson Beaton and Alexandre Gosselin each scored twice for Acadie-Bathurst in its victory over Shawinigan.

Raphael Corriveau and Nicholas Blanchard also chipped in with goals for the Titan (3-7-0).

Dennis Yan had a hat trick for the Cataractes (6-3-2) while Anthony Beauvillier and Alexis D'Aoust rounded out the attack.

BAIE-COMEAU, Que. — Maxime St-Cyr had a hat trick for Baie-Comeau in its win over Chicoutimi.

Valentin Zykov had a five-point night for the Drakkar (5-4-1), scoring twice and adding three assists. Luca Ciampini, Bokondji Imama, Alexis Vanier and Frederic Gamelin also scored.

Jeremy Bouchard struck twice for the Sagueneens (4-5-1) while William Gignac and Reid Halabi also scored.

RIMOUSKI, Que. — Alexis Loiseau scored twice in regulation and added another goal in a shootout to lead Rimouski over Blainville Boisbriand.

Jan Kostalek also had two goals for the Oceanic (9-2-0) and Tyler Boland rounded out the attack.

Daniel Walcott, Danick Martel, Alexandre Delisle-Houde, Samuel Tremblay, and Nikita Jevpalovs all scored for the Armada (2-6-2).

ROUYN-NORANDA, Que. — Mathieu Lemay scored his sixth of the season at 8:15 of the second period and it stood as the winner in Rouyn-Noranda's victory over Moncton.

Ryan Penny and Justin Guenette also scored for the Huskies (6-5-0).

Ivan Barbashev had a power-play goal and Christophe Lalonde scored at even strength for the Wildcats (7-3-0).
