QMJHL: Pelletier lifts Phoenix over Foreurs

SHERBROOKE, Que. — Julien Pelletier had a hat trick and assisted on the game-winning goal as the Sherbrooke Phoenix downed the Val-d'Or Foreurs 5-2 on Tuesday night in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League play.
Thomas Gregoire had the decisive goal for Sherbrooke (3-4-1) and Marek Zachar put the puck into an empty net. Evan Fitzpatrick earned the win, making 30 saves.
Mathieu Nadeau and Ivan Kozlov both had power-play goals for Val-d'Or (5-4-0). Etienne Montpetit stopped 35-of-39 shots.
Sherbrooke defenceman Olivier Schingh-Gomez was assessed a major and game misconduct for boarding at 10:19 of the first period.
The Phoenix were 3 for 7 on the power play and the Foreurs went 2 for 7 with the man advantage.
