KINGSTON, Ont. -- The Queen's Golden Gaels football team will forfeit the results of its first two games this season because of an ineligible player.

The team's victory over Windsor on Sept. 1 will be removed and will stand as a 1-0 loss. The 37-30 loss to Ottawa on Sept. 6 will stand.

"This is a very unfortunate situation, and the players are obviously disappointed," Queen's coach Pat Sheahan said in a release. "But we stand together as a team and we will put this behind us and focus on the games ahead."

The ineligible player can't play for the rest of the season. All team and player statistics for the rest of the Golden Gaels remain in place.
