The Ottawa Redblacks are expected to be without offensive lineman SirVincent Rogers for the rest of the season with an ankle injury.

Rogers suffered the injury in Friday's 29-12 victory over the Toronto Argonauts and had surgery on Monday.

“He’s going to be out long term,” Redblacks coach Rick Campbell told reporters on Monday. “We wouldn’t expect him back this season.

"There’s a remote chance that could happen, but we need to plan as if he’s not coming back. We expect him to make a full recovery going forward. I don’t know the exact details of it, but it’s ankle and lower leg and it takes time to heal correctly. It’s nothing that should prevent him from playing football going forward, but it would be a bit of a stretch to say he comes back this season."

The team finished Friday's game with an all-Canadian offensive line of Nolan MacMillan, Jason Lauzon-Séguin, Matt Albright, Jon Gott and Alex Mateas.
