The Cleveland Cavaliers have fired head coach David Blatt. Blatt confirmed the termination on Friday afternoon.

Marc Stein of ESPN is reporting that assistant Tyronn Lue will take over as head coach on a multi-year deal.

The Cavs currently lead the Eastern Conference with a 30-11 record and are the defending conference champions, falling in last season’s NBA Finals to the Golden State Warriors.

Blatt was in his second season with the Cavaliers and will depart with an 83-40 record.
