Darian Durant will return behind centre for the Saskatchewan Roughriders Thursday when they visit the Calgary Stampeders.

Roughriders head coach Chris Jones confirmed the expected move Wednesday, according to Murray McCormick of the Regina Leader-Post.

The veteran quarterback took the majority of snaps in practice this week and was put through additional drills that tested his mobility.

Durant has been out since July 16 when he went down early in a 40-27 loss to the B.C. Lions. During his absence, Mitchell Gale led Saskatchewan to a 30-29 win over the Ottawa Redblacks before the team came crashing back to earth Friday in a 41-3 shellacking at the hands of the host Montreal Alouettes.
