The Hamilton Tiger-Cats defeated the rival Toronto Argonauts in their home opener Monday, but lost two key pieces of their offence in the process.

The Tiger-Cats announced Wednesday that running back C.J. Gable and receiver Andy Fantuz have been placed on the six-game injured list.

Gable took a hard hit in the first-half and was taken to a local hospital with an elbow injury. Fantuz slipped on the turf and appeared to injure his arm during the fall later in the game.

With Gable lost long-term, the Ticats also announced Nic Grigsby has returned to the team with the running back signing to the practice roster Wednesday.

Grigsby was signed by Hamilton late last season after the Winnipeg Blue Bombers let him go and was a major factor in the team's ride to the Grey Cup final. He resigned with the Tiger-Cats in the offseason, but was released on July 14 after struggling through some injuries.

National receiver Robin Medeiros was also signed to the practice roster Wednesday while International running back Ray Holley and national receiver Giovanni Aprile were added to the active roster.
