The agent of Calgary Stampeders linebacker Jasper Simmons caused some commotion on Twitter Saturday night, ahead of the Stampeders' win over Simmons' former team, the Ottawa Redblacks.

The Stampeders acquired Simmons from the Redblacks in the off-season in a trade for receiver Maurice Price. Simmons, who finished last year with 80 tackles and three interceptions, has only four tackles, recorded in one game, with the Stampeders this year.

Simmons' agent kept at it on Twitter, elaborating on the situation from his point of view.

According to a story from Scott Fisher of the Calgary Sun, Stampeders head coach and general manager John Hufnagel addressed the situation on Sunday.

“Essentially, Jasper came and talked to me a week before the break and said that he’s not the happiest player,” Hufnagel said Sunday, according to Fisher. “We talked about being patient and things like that."

“So I told him to give me a couple of weeks to try to figure things out.”

The fun was far from over however, with Stamps receiver Marquay McDaniel starting things up again on Sunday, using Simmons' agents comments to take a shot at Price, the player Simmons was traded for.

That tweet got Price's attention, who responded with a number of his own.

Several others jumped in on the Twitter spat as well, including former Stampeders receiver Nik Lewis, now with the Montreal Alouettes.
