PORTLAND, Ore. - Jackson Whistle made 29 saves as the Kelowna Rockets blanked the Portland Winterhawks 5-0 for their Western Hockey League leading 13th win of the season on Thursday.

Rourke Chartier scored twice for Kelowna (13-1-0), which outshot the Winterhawks 36-29. Justin Kirkland had a goal and an assist, Tyson Baillie added a power-play goal and Cole Linaker also scored.

Bolton Pouliot turned aside 31 shots in the losing effort for Portland (5-10-2).

Kelowna was 1 for 6 on the power play while the Winterhawks failed to score on six chances with the man advantage.

THUNDERBIRDS 5 OIL KINGS 2

SEATTLE — Lane Pederson struck twice as the Thunderbirds downed the Oil Kings.

Matthew Barzal scored a goal and helped on another for Seattle (6-5-3), and Ryan Gropp and Alexander True rounded out the Thunderbirds' offence.

Ashton Sautner and Brett Pollock replied for Edmonton (9-4-2).
