Tiger Woods announced Tuesday that he has withdrawn from the PGA Championship.

“We have been in contact with Tiger’s agent, Mark Steinberg, and he informed us today that our four-time PGA Champion will be unable to join us at Baltusrol Golf Club next week for the 98th PGA Championship,” the PGA of America said in a statement.

Still recovering from a back surgery he had on Sept. 16, 2015, this will mark the first time Woods will miss all four majors in one season.

Woods will be replaced by Harold Varner III.

Woods has not competed on the PGA Tour since August 2015, when he finished T-10 at the Wyndham Championship in Greensboro, N.C. Since then, Woods has undergone a pair of back surgeries, a second microdiscectomy and an undisclosed follow-up procedure.

The PGA Championship will be held at Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield, N.J., beginning July 28.
