(SportsNetwork.com) - What Julio Teheran giveth last week, he can prolong on Wednesday.

The Atlanta right-hander was on the mound when the Braves defeated Philadelphia at the outset of their longest win streak of the season, and he'll be there when the Braves aim to stretch the run to seven games in the finale of a three-game series with the New York Mets at Turner Field.

Teheran has been strong in three straight starts while splitting a pair of decisions and compiling a 2.05 earned run average. The most recent of those outings came Friday against the Phillies as he allowed a single earned run in seven innings of a 4-2 victory.

He's tossed 25 innings in the three-game stretch, striking out 25 batters and walking two.

In three career meetings with the Mets, he's 1-0 with an even stingier 1.50 ERA.

The Mets, incidentally, have lost six of seven games, including the first two games of the three-game in Atlanta.

"It's nice to play small ball, stealing bases and running the bases good, going first to third," said the Braves' Andrelton Simmons.

Atlanta was 3-for-7 with runners in scoring position in Tuesday's 5-4 triumph.

"There's a reason why they're winning. There's a reason why they've won," Mets manager Terry Collins said. "They do have a knack for it. Those are the kind of players they have over there. They're tough in the clutch, boy, they're very tough."

For New York, it's the final game of a seven-game road trip that precedes 10 games at home.

Rookie Jacob deGrom gets the call for the road finale on the heels of two straight solid starts, which have included his first career victory -- against Miami on June 21 -- and a 6 2/3-inning stint in a no-decision against Pittsburgh on Friday.

He had a sub-2.00 ERA in his initial three starts after arriving from the minors in mid-May, then saw that number swell to near 7.00 over his next four outings before the Miami win.

"He threw the ball very well (against Pittsburgh), he really did," Collins said. "Made pitches, velocity was up. It was impressive."

DeGrom has never faced the Braves.

On Tuesday, the Braves' bullpen tossed 4 2/3 innings of scoreless, one-hit ball as Atlanta defeated the Mets.

Mike Minor exited with one out in the fifth after he allowed four runs on nine hits and a walk. Shae Simmons (1-0) was credited with his first big-league win, spinning 1 2/3 innings in Atlanta's sixth straight win.

After Simmons departed, Luis Avilan blanked the Mets in the seventh and Jordan Walden tossed a scoreless eighth before Craig Kimbrel fired a 1-2-3 ninth for his 26th save of the year.

Andrelton Simmons went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored in the triumph.

Curtis Granderson and Daniel Murphy each smacked a two-run homer for the Mets.

Daisuke Matsuzaka (3-3) yielded five runs on seven hits and three walks over five innings.
