(SportsNetwork.com) - The weight on Lance Lynn's shoulders just got heavier.

With starting pitchers Michael Wacha and Jaime Garcia going on the disabled list with shoulder injuries, Lynn's efforts will be magnified as the St. Louis Cardinals try to weather the storm and stay in the race in the NL Central.

The Cardinals, who split a four-game series against the Phillies over the weekend, will begin a three-game set at Colorado Monday night. It also marks the start of a 10-game road trip.

Lynn is 1-3 over his last four starts. He tossed six innings in a 3-2 home loss to the Mets on Wednesday. The right-hander has not yielded more than two runs in each of his last three starts. He has a 1-0 record with a 1.96 ERA in three career starts against Colorado.

The Rockies counter with Jhoulys Chacin, who has faced the Cardinals three times in his career. He's 0-2 with a 6.43 ERA versus St. Louis. Chacin has just one win in nine starts this season, but that came in his last home start June 12 versus Atlanta when he limited the Braves to a pair of hits over seven shutout innings.

Colorado comes into tonight hoping to end a six-game skid. The Rockies suffered a 6-5 loss at home yesterday to the Brewers. In his third career start, Tyler Matzek (1-2) was tagged for five runs on seven hits and four walks across 5 1/3 innings to absorb the loss.

Wilin Rosario collected four hits and was a triple shy of the cycle with three RBI and a pair of runs scored for the Rockies. Rosario's homer in the ninth inning came just after Corey Dickerson tried for an inside-the-park home run after an error, but was tagged out at home.

"He was going to score on that play," Rockies manager Walt Weiss said.

The Cardinals, who trail the NL Central-leading Brewers by 5 1/2 games, were 5-3 winners over the Phillies Sunday. Jhonny Peralta and Mark Ellis each knocked in a pair of runs. Carlos Martinez (1-3) picked up the win after giving up three runs on three hits over five innings of work.

"We played well," Cardinals first baseman Matt Adams said. "Everything clicked this homestand and hopefully we carry the momentum over into the road."

The Cardinals have won eight of the last 12 meetings with Colorado.
