The CFL coaching carousel is picking up speed as new head coach Dave Dickenson is beginning to put together his staff with the Calgary Stampeders.

Dickenson confirmed on Tuesday that defensive coordinator Rich Stubler is leaving the organization.

Stubler's contract was set to expire and it's believed he's got his sights set on joining the Toronto Argonauts, if the team decides to make a change. Argos’ defensive coordinator Casey Creehan is still under contract, but his status for next season remains unclear.

Stubler has strong ties to the Argos organization. He served as both a head coach and defensive coordinator for the franchise in the past.

Dickenson is expected to promote from within to fill Stubler's position. CFL sources say Dickenson will offer the Stamps defensive coordinator gig to DeVone Claybrooks.

Claybrooks has been the defensive line coach in Calgary and will move up the ladder. Dickenson is actively looking for a new defensive line coach and the leading candidate is former Stamps lineman Corey Mace.
