Mitchell showed why he's the next big thing in Canadian football quarterbacks by leading the Stampeders to a Grey Cup win in his first year as a starter, and being named Grey Cup MVP in the process. Mitchell also tied former Stampeder Jeff Garcia for the most consecutive wins to start a career with seven.

Elimimian was the official league leader in tackles with 148 (a new league record) and the unofficial league leader in intimidation last year. The five-year veteran, known as the Intimidator, became the first defensive player to be named Most Outstanding Player since Hal Patterson in 1956.

Bowman led the league in receiving by nearly 400 yards, setting an Eskimos team record for receptions in a season (112) along the way. After five promising years in the CFL and one lost to injury, the 29-year-old broke through with a true career year.

Ray continued his assault on the all-time lists, leading the league's quarterbacks in yards by nearly 700, and touchdowns by six. Ray also added to his collection of All Star bids last year. The bad news? The 35-year-old will begin 2015 on the six-game injured list while recovering from off-season shoulder surgery.

Chick burst out of the gate in the sacks race and managed to hold on to lead the league at the end of the year. Since his return from a three-year NFL tryout two years ago, Chick has been a constant force and thorn in the side of opposing QBs.
Darian Durant

Durant's impact was highlighted by his absence last year. The 32-year-old led the Roughriders to an 8-2 first half record before losing the second half of the season to injury and watching Saskatchewan crawl to a 2-6 record the rest of the way.
Mike Reilly

Banks had an impressive regular season, nearing 2,000 all-purpose yards, but really turned it on in the playoffs. On way to becoming a household name, Banks was an illegal bloack away from single-handedly winning the Ticats the Grey Cup. He'll likely only get better with the new kick return rules.
