Chicago, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Chicago Cubs and pitcher Tsuyoshi Wada have agreed to terms on a one-year contract.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Wada was 4-4 with a 3.25 ERA in 13 starts for the Cubs last season. He began the year with Triple-A Iowa and was 10-6 with a 2.77 ERA in 19 games, earning Pacific Coast League All-Star honors, then was promoted to the big leagues in late July.

The 33-year-old left-hander spent nine seasons in Japan and was 107-61 with a 3.13 ERA in 210 games. He signed with Baltimore in December 2011 and developed an elbow injury the following spring training that led to Tommy John surgery in May, then returned to the Orioles' Triple-A team in Norfolk in June 2013.
