The Toronto Blue Jays do not have third basemen Josh Donaldson in the lineup tonight for their series opener with the Cleveland Indians.

The reigning AL MVP was forced to leave Wednesday’s game against the New York Yankees with a jammed finger after being hit by a pitch. Darwin Barney will take his spot at third base.

In other Blue Jays news, the team has re-called infielder Ryan Goins from AAA Buffalo. Goins is in the lineup tonight playing shortstop. With Goins at shortstop, Troy Tulowitzki will not be in the lineup against the Indians. The Canadian Press reports Tulowitzki is nursing a sore calf. Both Donaldson and Tulowitzki are available to pinch hit.

To make room for Goins the Jays sent outfielder Darrell Ceciliani down to Buffalo. In 11 games with Toronto, Ceciliani had three hits in 26 at bats.
