Edmonton Eskimos quarterback Matt Nichols will get the start when they host the Saskatchewan Roughriders in Sunday's Western Semi-Final.

Regular starting quarterback Mike Reilly was on the field briefly for practice Wednesday, but threw no balls and was walking gingerly.

Reilly reportedly broke a bone in his foot during Edmonton's blowout win over the B.C. Lions on Nov. 1 and didn't play in the last game of the season against Saskatchewan.

The Eskimos say that Reilly is expected to practice this week and will be available to play this weekend if need be.

Nichols appeared in seven games this season, throwing for 1014 yards with four touchdowns and five interceptions.

Reilly was the starter for all 12 of the Eskimos wins in 2014.

Also on Wednesday, the Eskimos signed quarterback Justin Goltz, who has played four seasons with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
