New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Kentucky remained the top team in the latest Associated Press men's college basketball poll, but the Wildcats are a unanimous choice for the first time this season.

Kentucky has dominated most of its early-season opposition thus far and last week toppled a top-10 squad in Texas. The Wildcats received all 64 first-place votes and a total of 1,600 points from a nationwide media panel.

Duke, after beating then-No. 2 Wisconsin, moved up two spots to second. The Badgers dropped three spots to fifth, just behind Arizona and Louisville.

Virginia, Villanova, Texas, Gonzaga and Kansas round out the top 10. Texas dipped just two spots from sixth after its loss in Lexington.

The second 10 consists of Wichita State, Ohio State, Utah, Iowa State, Butler, Oklahoma, Washington, San Diego State, Maryland and Miami-Florida. Utah was the biggest mover within the poll, vaulting 12 places from 25th after beating Wichita State last Wednesday.

Washington is among this week's newcomers, debuting at No. 17 after improving to 7-0 with a 49-36 win over San Diego State on Sunday.

The last five teams ranked are North Carolina, West Virginia, Northern Iowa, St. John's and Notre Dame. North Carolina tumbled nine places from 12th after a loss to Iowa last week.

Northern Iowa, St. John's and Notre Dame joined Washington as this week's newcomers. Northern Iowa is 8-0, while St. John's is 6-1 and coming off its first win at Syracuse since 1999, while Notre Dame is 8-1 and last week knocked off Michigan State.

The overtime loss to the Fighting Irish helped send the Spartans, who were 19th, out of this week's rankings. Illinois, Arkansas and Michigan also dropped out after losses last week. The Wolverines were 17th last week and dropped a 72-70 home decision to NJIT on Saturday.

This week's schedule features only a pair of ranked matchups, both on Saturday, as North Carolina visits Kentucky and Kansas hosts Utah.
