Calvin Johnson may have played his final snap in the NFL.

The second overall pick of the 2007 NFL Draft released a statement Wednesday acknowledging he's considering retiring after nine seasons with the Detroit Lions.

"Like many players at this stage of their career, I am currently evaluating options for my future. I would expect to have a decision regarding this matter in the not-too-distant future," Johnson said per a statement released with the Lions.

Johnson, 30, caught 88 passes for 1,214 yards and nine touchdowns in 2015, while playing through nagging injuries.

The future Hall of Famer has 731 receptions for 11,619 yards and 83 touchdowns across his career.

"We obviously have profound respect for Calvin and certainly understand and appreciate his decision to give proper thought and consideration to his football future," said the Lions in a statement.
