NFL fifth-year option tracker
The NFL's deadline for teams to exercise fifth-year club options on players drafted in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft passed on Monday, May 4. See the players who earned an extra season on their contracts, and those who didn't. Notably, both Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III had their contracts extended.

The NFL's deadline for teams to exercise fifth-year club options on players drafted in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft passed Monday, May 4. See the table below to see who had their option picked up, and who did not. All contracts had an initial length of four years, taking them through the 2015 season. Those who did not have their options picked up are eligible to become free agents in 2016.

* - The Browns traded Richardson to the Colts during the 2013 season for a first-round draft pick. He was released by the Colts after the 2014 season.
** - Blackmon was suspended for the entire 2014 season and still has two seasons remaining on his initial four-year contract. He is currently still under indefinite NFL suspension.
*** - Barron was traded to the Rams during the 2014 season for a fourth-round and sixth-round draft pick. St. Louis elected not to pick up his option.
**** - Weeden was released by the Browns after just two seasons with the team.
***** - On the same day his option was declined, Mercilus signed a four-year extension with the Texans.
****** - The 49ers traded Jenkins to the Chiefs after the 2012 season for WR Jon Baldwin. He was released by the Chiefs after the 2014 season. The 49ers waived Baldwin in August, 2014.
******* - Wilson was forced to retire from the NFL after suffering a career-ending injury during the 2013 NFL season.
