MONCTON, N.B. - Ross Johnston scored two goals and assisted on two more as the Charlottetown Islanders edged the Moncton Wildcats 7-6 in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action on Saturday.

Daniel Sprong also found the back of the net twice and added a helper for Charlottetown (35-28-5). Luc Deschenes, Alexandre Goulet and Quinn O'Brien rounded out the attack while Dexter Weber chipped in with three assists.

Ivan Barbashev led the Wildcats (46-18-3) with a goal and two assists. Garrett Johnston, Will Smith, Dominic Talbot-Tassi, Kyle Tibbo, and Cameron Askew also scored.

Islanders goaltender Daryl MacCallum made 35 saves.

Jason Rioux started in net for Moncton and gave up seven goals on 33 shots through 48:30. Hugo Talbot-Tassi was perfect on three shots in relief.

Charlottetown was 3 for 4 on the power play. The Wildcats failed to score on three chances with the man advantage.

SYDNEY, N.S. — Loik Leveille scored 2:35 into overtime to lift the Screaming Eagles over Acadie-Bathurst.

Evgeny Svechnikov had both goals in regulation for Cape Breton (31-31-6). His first opened the scoring at 16:21 of the first while his second tied the game 2-2, 9:19 into the third.

Mark Trickett and Campbell Pickard had back-to-back second-period goals for the Titan (17-43-8). Alexandre Leclerc assisted on both.

HALIFAX — Mark Tremaine struck twice, including an empty-net goal with nine seconds left in regulation, as Saint John downed the Mooseheads.

Samuel Dove-McFalls and Braydon Blight also scored for the Sea Dogs (32-26-10).

Timo Meier opened the scoring with a first-period power-play goal for Halifax (31-30-6).

BAIE-COMEAU, Que. — Jeremy Gregoire scored a tiebreaking goal early in the third period and the Drakkar held on to edge Chicoutimi.

Nicolas Roy and Janne Puhakka replied with power-play goals for the Sagueneens (29-32-7).

RIMOUSKI, Que. — Michael Joly scored three goals, including the eventual winner early in the third period, and assisted on another to power the Oceanic over Quebec.

Alexis Loiseau had a goal and a helper for Rimouski (47-16-5) and Francois Beauchemin also scored.

Anthony Duclair scored twice and added an assist to lead the Remparts (40-25-3). Adam Erne and Massimo Carozza supplied the rest of the offence.

ROUYN-NORANDA, Que. — Francis Perron struck twice and Julien Pelletier had four assists as the Huskies toppled Sherbrooke.

Mathieu Lemay and Ryan Penny had a goal and two helpers apiece for Rouyn-Noranda (33-30-5). Jean-Christophe Beaudin, Mathieu Boucher and Allan Caron rounded out the attack.

David Storto scored two for the Phoenix (36-26-6) and Daniel Audette had a goal and an assist.

VICTORIAVILLE, Que. — Joey Ratelle scored twice and added an assist as Drummondville powered past the Tigres.

Alex Barre-Boulet picked up four points with a goal and three helpers and Georgs Golovkovs had a goal and two assists for the Voltigeurs (26-38-4) before receiving a game misconduct for fighting in the third period. Adam Chapman, who also got a game misconduct for fighting, Philippe Pelletier-Leblanc, Christophe Lalancette, and Michael Carcone each scored one goal and set up another.

Gabriel Gagne and Samuel Blais led Victoriaville (27-34-7) with two goals and an assist apiece. Angelo Miceli rounded out the offence with one goal and one helper. Martin-Olivier Cardinal and Jordan Ty Fournier were both given game misconducts for fighting.
