HALIFAX - Timo Meier scored the shootout-winner and added two assists in regulation to lift the Halifax Mooseheads to a 4-3 win over the Quebec Remparts in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action on Thursday.

Matt Murphy had two goals for Halifax (15-14-3), which trailed 3-1 before tying the game in the third period, and Philippe Gadoury scored one goal and helped on another.

Guillaume Gauthier had a three-point night for the Remparts (20-11-2) with a goal and two assists, and Marc-Olivier Roy and Adam Erne also scored.

Mooseheads goaltender Kevin Resop stopped 25 shots through regulation and overtime and all three skaters he faced in the shootout.

Quebec's Eric Brassard made 34 saves over 65 minutes of action and stopped 2-of-3 shooters in the shootout.

Halifax was 1 for 6 on the power play while the Remparts scored once on two chances with the man advantage.

CHICOUTIMI, Que. — Alexandre Ranger scored four goals and assisted on another to lead the Sagueneens to a fifth straight victory with a win over Charlottetown.

Brian Lovell found the back of the net twice for Chicoutimi (14-15-2), Samuel Roussy had a goal and an assist and Jeremy Lepine also scored.

Alexandre Goulet had three goals for the Islanders (15-16-2), who were successful on 4-of-10 power-play chances. Daniel Sprong and Ryan MacKinnon rounded out the Charlottetown attack with a goal and two assists apiece.

SHAWINIGAN, Que. — Anthony Beauvillier struck twice as the Cataractes edged Blainville-Boisbriand.

Christophe Lalonde also scored for Shawinigan (17-14-2), while Marvin Cupper stopped 21 shots.

Danick Martel replied for the Armada (17-10-4), with a power-play goal at 6:38 of the third period. Samuel Montembeault made 16 saves.
