MONCTON, N.B. - Jacob Sweeney scored two power-play goals in the first period as the Moncton Wildcats edged the Saint John Sea Dogs 6-5 in a matchup between two nationally-ranked teams on Sunday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Alexandre Jacob, Zack MacEwen, Cameron Askew and Zachary Malatesta supplied the rest of the offence for No. 9 Moncton (23-10-2). Dominic Talbot-Tassi added three assists for the Wildcats, who have now won eight of their last 10 games.

Luke Green had a pair of goals for No. 8 Saint John (20-10-5), which has now lost four straight. Juraj Siska, Spencer Smallman and Mark Tremaine also found the back of the net for the Sea Dogs.

Alex Dubeau turned away 38 shots in goal for Moncton while Sebastien Auger made 26 saves for the Sea Dogs.

The Wildcats went 3 for 6 with the man advantage. Saint John scored once on three power-play chances.

CHARLOTTETOWN — Alexandre Goulet scored two of the Islanders' four second-period goals to lead them over Acadie-Bathurst.

Bradley Kennedy and Spenser Cobbold also found the back of the net for Charlottetown (18-17-2) for its third-straight win.

Aaron Kerr opened the scoring for the Titan (10-23-5) in the first period.

BAIE-COMEAU, Que. — Guillaume Gauthier had the only goal in the shootout as Quebec edged the Drakkar in a penalty filled affair.

Adam Erne scored his 22nd of the year in regulation for the Remparts (22-12-2), who had 30 penalty minutes.

Nicolas Leblond had the lone goal for Baie-Comeau (19-11-5), which had 36 penalty minutes.
