The Ottawa Redblacks relieved offensive coordinator Mike Gibson of his duties on Wednesday. No replacement has been named.
"Mike is a dedicated football man and I'd like to thank him for his efforts this year," said Redblacks head coach Rick Campbell. "We continue moving toward growing into a winning football team. We have some names in mind but we'll take the time to do our homework before hiring anybody. We want to add a coach that will best help us to win football games."
The expansion Redblacks finished their first season with a record of 2-16, scoring 278 points or less than 16 points per game.
That ranked last in the league, more than 100 points fewer than the eighth-ranked Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
