The Toronto Blue Jays have signed left-handed pitcher Brett Oberholtzer to a minor-league contract, Gregor Chisholm of MLB.com reports.

Oberholtzer, 27, appeared in 37 games with the Philadelphia Phillies and Los Angeles Angels last season, posting a 3-3 record with a 5.89 ERA.

The contract with the Jays includes an invitation to attend spring training with the team.

He rejected his assignment to Triple-A from the Angels last month and elected instead for free agency.

Oberholtzer owns a career record of 14-23 with a 4.36 ERA since debuting in the MLB with the Houston Astros in 2013.
