Despite the Toronto Blue Jays maintaining interest in centre fielder Dexter Fowler, the two sides appear to be at least $3 million apart when it comes to annual salary.

According to Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports, Toronto offered Fowler four-years and $60 million (average annual value of $15 million) while Fowler is seeking somewhere in the range of $18 million annually.

Fowler hit .276 with 13 home runs and 48 RBIs over 125 games this season, his second with the Cubs and ninth in the Majors. The performance was good enough for him to make his first All-Star team this summer.

The 30-year-old had a solid postseason too, hitting three homers, including a leadoff shot in Game 7 of the World Series against the Cleveland Indians.

Fowler became a free-agent when he rejected the Cubs' qualifying offer of $17.2 million.
