Toronto Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry has accepted an invitation to play for USA Basketball at the Rio Olympics, according to a report by Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports.

Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports is reporting that DeMar DeRozan will join Lowry on the Olympic team.

The Philadelphia born Lowry appeared in 77 games for the Raptors during the 2015-16 season and averaged a career-high 21.2 points as well as 6.4 assists per game has he helped lead the team to their franchise first appearance in the Eastern Conference Finals.

The 10-year NBA veteran has spent the last four seasons with the Raptors and has also appeared with the Houston Rockets and Memphis Grizzlies.

The 26-year-old DeRozan is coming off a career year for the Dinos. He averaged over 23 points, four rebounds and four assists in 78 games this past season to help bring the Raptors to their first appearance in the Eastern Conference finals.

The seven-year veteran has played his entire NBA career in Toronto, and is an unrestricted free agent this summer.

Lowry and DeRozan join a defending champion USA Olympic team that will have to play without both Stephen Curry and Russell Westbrook who have withdrawn their names from consideration from the team.
