The Saskatchewan Roughriders have had a big second day of free agency.

The Roughriders nabbed pass rusher Alex Hall, who didn't play last year after being signed and cut by the NFL's Carolina Panthers in training camp.

Hall's split his 2013 season between the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Roughriders, finishing with 15 sacks. The 29-year-old has 71 tackles and 25 sacks in three years in the CFL.

In other moves, the Roughriders also signed offensive lineman Dan Clark and fullback Scott McHenry to new contract, inked Canadian free agents Keenan MacDougall and Joash Gesse, and released receiver Brett Swain.

Clark, 26, has been with Saskatchewan the past three years while McHenry, 27, has been with the Green Riders the past five seasons.

MacDougall, a 24-year-old native of Saskatoon, spent the last three seasons with the Calgary Stampeders, who selected MacDougall in the third round, 15th overall, of the 2012 Canadian draft.

The defensive back registered 30 special-teams tackles, eight defensive tackles and two fumble return TDs in 36 regular-season games with Calgary.

Gesse, a linebacker, had 12 special teams tackles for the Edmonton Eskimos last year.
