The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed international defensive back Geoff Tisdale.

As per club policy, details of the contracts were not released.

Tisdale was at practice on Tuesday and expects to play Friday against the BC Lions.

Tisdale is entering his eighth CFL season after originally joining the league with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 2008 where he played his first three seasons. The Pittsburgh State product played the 2011 season with the Calgary Stampeders, returned to Hamilton for 2012, then spent the last two seasons with the Montreal Alouettes after signing with them in February, 2013 as a free agent.

Through 114 career games, the 29-year-old has collected 291 defensive tackles and 29 interceptions with four returned for touchdowns. He is a two-time East Division All-Star (2013, 14) and was named a CFL All-Star in 2013 after leading the league with seven interceptions.

The Roughriders also announced on Tuesday that national defensive end Levi Steinhauer suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament and will miss the remainder of the 2015 season.
