The Calgary Stampeders have returned to the top spot in the TSN.ca CFL Power Rankings, surpassing the injury-plagued Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

After a relatively slow start to the year, the Stamps have won four straight, by a cumulative margin of 79 points.

A decisive win over Toronto also helped lift the Edmonton Eskimos from four to three, and Ottawa's rout over Saskatchewan earned them a move up from seven to six.

The Stampeders are still winning close games, but have put up a couple of blowouts in recent weeks, and that has been the most encouraging sign for a team that seemed to be underachieving early in the year. QB Bo Levi Mitchell has elevated his play and a committee of running backs have admirably filled the void created by Jon Cornish's injury.

Key Injuries: DT Corey Mace (foot), T Dan Federkeil (leg), T Edwin Harrison (leg), RB Jon Cornish (thumb).

Just as some consistency was hitting the rankings, with the Ticats holding top spot for a couple of weeks, they were knocked off at home by Montreal and lost three defensive starters to injury. Maybe it's not a big deal, and maybe the Als just have Hamilton's number this season, but it's enough for change at the top.

Key Injuries: DT Brian Bulcke (knee), DT Linden Gaydosh (Achilles), RB C.J. Gable (elbow), WR Andy Fantuz (arm), DE Eric Norwood (undisclosed), DB Johnny Sears Jr. (undisclosed) and S Mike Daly (undisclosed).

Back on track with an impressive win over Toronto, as QB James Franklin made the most of his opportunity and WR Derel Walker is apparently unstoppable, racking up 472 receiving yards to rank 11th in the league, despite playing just three games.

Key Injuries: RB John White (Achilles), G Simeon Rottier (knee), WR Shamawd Chambers (knee), QB Mike Reilly (knee), G Greg Wojt (concussion).

His accuracy is still there, but Argos QB Trevor Harris has seen his production dip in the past three games and the Argos defence is still a work in progress, not up to the same standards as the other top contenders.

Key Injuries: QB Ricky Ray (shoulder), SB Andre Durie (knee), WR Chad Owens (ankle).

Montreal Alouettes

Even with a big road win at Hamilton, the Alouettes aren't gaining ground this week, with injuries taking them down to fourth-string quarterback Tanner Marsh, and more injury woes for RB Tyrell Sutton.

Key Injuries: DE Aaron Lavarias (arm), WR James Rodgers (undisclosed), QB Dan LeFevour (shoulder), QB Jonathan Crompton (shoulder), LB Bear Woods (pectoral), QB Rakeem Cato (hip), RB Tyrell Sutton (undisclosed).

RB Jeremiah Johnson was the star in an easy win over Saskatchewan, and while there have been ups and downs in the first half of the season, the RedBlacks go into a bye week with a winning record, a significant accomplishment.

Key Injuries: WR Marcus Henry (undisclosed), MLB Travis Brown (shoulder).

B.C. Lions

It's been a rough road for the Lions lately, so much so that they lose ground even following a bye week., but that's more a credit to the RedBlacks than anything to do with the Lions. They can hope for an offensive boost with WR Lavelle Hawkins, a former NFLer who has been hurt for the first half of the season.

Key Injuries:  None.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers

Losers of three straight, the Bombers were drilled at home by Calgary, and in an effort to stabilize their offence, they've added RB Chevon Walker, who was recently let go by Ottawa.

Key Injuries:  QB Drew Willy (knee), RB Paris Cotton (arm), WR Darvin Adams (upper body).

Saskatchewan Roughriders

It should come as no surprise that the 0-9 Roughriders decided it was time for a change, firing GM Brendan Taman and head coach Corey Chamblin, but they were victims of bad luck early in the year and that snowball just started rolling downhill.

Key Injuries:  QB Darian Durant (Achilles), ILB Shea Emry (neck), QB Kevin Glenn (shoulder), SB Chris Getzlaf (lower body).
