INDIANAPOLIS - IndyCar officials fined Toronto runner-up Luca Filippi $5,000 for violating the series' rule on fuel capacity last weekend.

The Italian driver earned his first career podium finish at Toronto and helped CFH Racing sweep the top two spots. American Josef Newgarden won his second race of the season last weekend.

Honda also was docked 40 points in the manufacturer's standings because two engines failed to reach their 2,500-mile life cycle. Andretti Autosport changed engines in the cars of Marco Andretti and Carlos Munoz sooner than permitted.

Chevrolet, meanwhile, was awarded a 10-point bonus because Simon Pagenaud's car attained its full life cycle.

Those decisions give Chevy a 1,003-840 lead over Honda in the points.

Each penalty is subject to appeal.
