    Helio Castroneves will start from the pole position at the Indy Grand Prix of Alabama after a shortened qualifying session. Castroneves turned in the fast lap of 1:07.1925 to earn his second pole at Barber Motorsports Park. He won the inaugural Alabama race in 2010 and captured the pole two years later.

    Logano wins third pole in nine races

    Joey Logano won the pole position Friday night for the NASCAR Sprint Cup race Saturday night at Richmond International Raceway. The Daytona 500 winner turned a fast lap at 127.071 mph in the third round on the 0.75-mile oval. He easily edged Denny Hamlin for the top spot, with Kurt Busch and A.J. Allmendinger starting in the second row.

    Scott Dixon passed Helio Castroneves during a mid-race pit stop and dominated the rest of the way Sunday to win the Grand Prix of Long Beach for the first time. A three-time IndyCar Series champion, Dixon has not had much luck on the 1.968-mile, 11-turn temporary street circuit, finishing fourth in 2010 for his only previous top 10 at Long Beach.
