    Daytona 500 winner Joey Logano won the pole for Sunday's NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Atlanta Motor Speedway after a qualifying session in which 13 drivers didn't get on the track after failing to pass inspection. Among those who didn't get to take a lap Friday evening: Jeff Gordon, Matt Kenseth, Jimmie Johnson and Tony Stewart.

    After the glitz of Daytona, now it's time for the NASCAR grind. The Sprint Cup drivers returned to the track Thursday at Atlanta Motor Speedway, getting an extra day to test out the new rules package that will be in effect for the first time.

    Busch has surgery on broken left foot

    Kyle Busch has undergone surgery on his left foot, broken in a hard crash at Daytona International Speedway. Dr. Robert Anderson of OrthoCarolina performed the surgery Wednesday. Anderson is a noted specialist who has treated NFL players Matt Schaub and Ahmad Bradshaw and retired baseball players Derek Jeter and Chipper Jones.

    Gibbs unsure how long Busch will be sidelined

    Joe Gibbs does not know how long Kyle Busch will be sidelined with a broken right leg and left foot from a crash at Daytona International Speedway. Busch had surgery on his right leg in Daytona after Saturday's crash. His team owner says Busch's foot will be examined when he returns to Charlotte, North Carolina, by renowned specialist Dr. Robert Anderson.
