Daniel Cormier will fight this weekend at UFC 200 despite opponent Jon Jones being pulled from the card due to an anti-doping violation, the organization’s president Dana White confirmed.

In an interview with Colin Cowerd on FS1’s The Herd on Thursday, White said their are plenty of fighters chomping at the bit to face the light heavyweight champion and that UFC will “get a fight done.”

Jones was pulled from the title fight Wednesday after testing positive for a banned substance in an out-of-competition test from mid-June. Jones is having a second sample tested, however, there is not enough time to clear his name and have him ready for Saturday’s card.

“It’s crazy,” White said of Jones. “This guy might be the greatest talent that this sport has ever seen, but he cannot get it together.”

Some of the fighters rumoured to be interested in the bout with Cormier are newly-minted middleweight champion Michael Bisping, former StrikeForce light heavyweight champion Gegard Mousasi, already schedule for UFC 200, and Ilir Latifi.

Laughing off the idea of Bisping stepping in, White says Bisping is likely not prepared for a tilt with Cormier.

“Let me tell you what Bisping does in his offseason,” White said. “When Bisping’s not training, Bisping goes on a bender. He’s in no condition to come in and fight Daniel Cormier, I promise you that.””

Regardless of who it is, expect the light heavyweight champion to be in the octagon Saturday at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

“Cormier will fight this weekend,” White concluded.
