Ducks claim D Thomson off waivers from Senators


The Anaheim Ducks have claimed defenceman Lassi Thomson off waivers from the Ottawa Senators. 

Thomson was one of four players waived by Ottawa on Saturday. The 2019 first-rounder had seven goals and 33 points in 56 games last season with the AHL's Belleville Senators. 

All other players placed on waivers Saturday cleared. 

In other waivers news on Sunday, the Montreal Canadiens placed forwards Lias Andersson and Philippe Maillet on waivers for the purpose of a loan to the Laval Rocket. 

The Vancouver Canucks also waived Jett Woo, Matt Irwin, Sheldon Dries, Jack Rathbone and Zach Sawchenko. The Winnipeg Jets also waived five players in Jansen Harkins, Jeff Malott, Kristian Reichel, Ashton Sautner and Dominic Toninato.
