Ice Chips: Leafs G Woll out vs. Habs on Saturday

Goaltender Joseph Woll is battling flu-like symptoms and will not be available for Saturday's preseason rematch in Montreal against the Canadiens, tweets TSN's Mark Masters.

Woll, 25, did not take part in the morning skate.

The Dardenne Prairie, MO., native went 6-1 with a 2.16 goals-against average and .932 save percentage for the Leafs during the 2022-23 regular season. 

Netminders Martin Jones and Dennis Hildeby are available for Saturday's contest. 

The Leafs defeated the Canadiens 2-1 on Friday.

Winnipeg Jets

Forwards Cole Perfetti and Nikolaj Ehlers both wore regular jerseys at practice on Saturday, TSN's John Lu reports.

Perfetti, 21, left Wednesday's preseason contest against the Calgary Flames after sustaining a hit to the head from Martin Pospisil.

Ehlers, 27, has yet to suit up for a preseason game due to neck spasms.

Defenceman Nate Schmidt, 32, was in a non-contact Jersey on Saturday.

Lu also reports that forwards Kyle Connor and Gabriel Vilardi missed practice due to illness, while blueliner Declan Chisolm left the ice early after aggravating a nagging lower-body injury suffered Friday against the Ottawa Senators. 

The Jets are preparing for a rematch with the Flames on Monday.
