Nick Bjugstad and Zach Hyman provided second-period goals as the Oilers hold a 5-2 lead over the Los Angeles Kings after two periods in Game 5.

Bjugstad gave the Oilers a 4-2 lead at 11:49 of the period, when he tipped a Cody Ceci point shot past Joonas Korpisalo for his first goal of the playoffs. The Kings pulled Korpisalo in favour of Pheonix Copley after the former allowed four goals on 15 shots.

Hyman extended the Oilers' lead to three on a power play as an Evan Bouchard point shot ricocheted off his face and past Copley for the Oilers’ fifth goal of the evening. It’s Hyman’s second-straight game with a goal.

Philip Broberg appeared to sustain an upper-body injury midway through the period when he fell into the boards with his right shoulder taking most of the impact. He immediately left for the Oilers’ dressing room but returned to the bench later in the period.

Kings defenceman Drew Doughty left the ice in considerable pain just prior to Hyman's goal after taking a Connor McDavid shot off the knee. He remained on the bench but did not have a shift after sustaining the injury.
