SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The American Hockey League has suspended Lehigh Valley Phantoms left-wing Jay Rosehill for three games for an illegal check to the head.

Rosehill hit Hershey Bears defenceman Patrick Wey in the head during the second period of a game on Friday. Wey did not return to the game, and Rosehill was not penalized on the play.

Rosehill, who has played 117 NHL games with Toronto and Philadelphia, will miss Lehigh Valley's games Sunday at Hershey, Wednesday against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and Saturday against Hartford.

The AHL also suspended Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins left-wing Bobby Farnham for one game for picking up an instigator penalty within the final five minutes of the third period of a game against Hershey on Saturday.
