The Toronto Argonauts are set to have star kicker Swayze Waters back in the lineup for Sunday's contest against the Ottawa Redblacks.

To make room for Waters, the team will cut kicker Ronnie Pfeffer. Waters suffered a tear in his hip flexor in the Argos' Week 1 win.

Pfeffer made 12 of his 16 field goal attempts with the Argonauts, and converted 11 of 13 PATs. His long on the season is 52 yards.

Waters was the CFL's top special-teams player in 2014.

In other Argonauts news, quarterback Ricky Ray continued throwing on Friday.

According to TSN's Matthew Scianitti, who observed Ray, the quarterback looked sharp in throw travelling 30 yards or less. However, Ray's deeper throws of 30 yards or more wobbled and dipped as the approached their intended distance.

Ray is recovering from off-season shoulder surgery, but the Argos have opened the year 5-2 behind replacement Trevor Harris.
