With the clock ticking on free agency, the Toronto Argonauts re-signed linebacker Cory Greenwood on Monday, according to TSN's Farhan Lalji.

The Kingston native was eligible to become a free agent on Tuesday.

Greenwood appeared in eight games last season, picking up 36 tackles and one sack.
 
The Concordia product was drafted third overall in the 2010 CFL Draft.

Before joining the Argonauts in 2014, Greenwood plied his trade in the NFL with stints in Kansas City and Detroit.
