The Toronto Argonauts may have an unexpected rookie at training camp next week.

According to his agent, defensive lineman Daryl Waud voluntarily left the Washington Redskins on Tuesday.  The Hamilton native could sign a deal with Argonauts as early as Wednesday.

The second round pick out of Western University attended rookie mini-camp with the Redskins and signed a contract last week.

Waud, who was drafted by the Argonauts 32 years after his father, needs to clear waivers on Wednesday before signing with the Argonauts.

CFL rookie camps open on Wednesday while the veterans report on Sunday.
