The Toronto Argonauts are going with the veteran behind centre.

Head coach Scott Milanovich announced Ricky Ray would start the east semifinal next weekend following the team's season finale win over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Friday.

Ray has missed all but three games this season as he recovered from offseason right shoulder surgery. When he was ready to return to action he found himself on the sidelines as Trevor Harris's backup who put together a MOP-caliber season for the playoff bound Argos. The 29-year-old Harris threw for over 4000 yards with 33 touchdown passes and 19 interceptions in 2015.

The 36-year-old Ray threw for 89 yards with one touchdown in his start Friday against the Blue Bombers before he was replaced by Harris in the second quarter.

Toronto will play the loser of Saturday’s clash between the Ottawa Redblacks and Hamilton Tigers-Cats in the east semifinal next week. It will be a road game for the Argonauts.
