Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Mike Babcock and Edmonton Oilers head coach Todd McLellan have been voted finalists for the Jack Adams Award, along with John Tortorella of the Columbus Blue Jackets.

The Jack Adams Award is given annually to the coach who contributed the most to his team's success.

In his second season with the Leafs, Babcock guided the team to their first playoff appearance since 2013. The Leafs also became the first team since the 2007-08 Philadelphia Flyers to make the playoffs a season after finishing last in the standings. Babcock has twice before been a Jack Adams finalist during his time with the Detroit Red Wings.

McLellan led the Oilers to their first playoff appearance since 2005-06 and first 100+ point season since 1986-87. The Oilers' 103 points represented a league leading 33-point improvement from last season. McLellan was a finalist for the Jack Adams before, finishing third in 2008-09 with the San Jose Sharks.

Tortorella guided the Blue Jackets to franchise records in wins (50) and points (108). The Blue Jackets also recorded the second longest single-season winning streak in NHL history after reeling off 16 straight from late November to early January. Tortorella is a former Jack Adams winner (2003-04 with the Tampa Bay Lightning), and is now a four-time finalist.

The winner will be announced June 21 during the NHL Awards in Las Vegas.
